Ernest Burden III
I have to keep thinking this is a joke. It must be, right? http://www.studiodaily.com/2012/07/digital-domain-to-3d-conversion-industry-you-owe-us-money/ So, content creators, YOU are the first mention in this guy's line of litigation. Chris MacDonald
Forgive me if i've read the article wrong but DOES it affect all of us? I mean I never produce anything in stereoscopic 3D, nor do I record in it. It seems to me this litigation is targeted towards those recording 2D footage and turning it into 3D? Though that said one bit did stand out to me; "any modern conversion process that involves rotoscoping … and relate to any conversion process that includes horizontal image displacement/transform." Whilst I've not used it (yet! I plan to in the future) rotoscoping is pretty key in just about every film/animation production environment going - if so surely they're going to be filing a shit load of law suits? Also who do you pursue, the people that use rotoscoping or the software developers that provide it? And displacement; now I'm not sure whether this was referring to the normal/bump displacement we use every day or something to do with stereoscopic 3D, but surely he doesn't own the rights to that technology, does he? Jeff Mottle
This Textor guy is a real piece of work. I guess his antics to enslave and abuse young and aspiring students in Florida was just the start of his plans.
Justin Hunt
What a way to bit the hand that feeds. So they wont sue client that they work for, dont think they will be picking up any new clients then, especially once they have been sued. jhv
