alfienoakes
Hey guys, I thought I should be able to find the answer pretty quickly but I'm struggling. I have an animation I am setting up and Im using an HDRI as part of the lighting and all of the background. All ok, until I lift the camera up above the horizon and I see the bottom edge of the HDRI and a load of the base of the HDRI, ie houses, and the ground joining the sky. I really want to keep this simple, so I want to use the HDRI as part of the lighting and then swap either a new simple gradient in, or the Vray sky. It needs to work in an animation basically. Can anyone point me in the right direction, as I seem to have hit a bit of a blank. Many thanks
erickdt
If you're using a VRay dome light you can turn off its visibility. You can then insert another background into the background slot under the environment menu. Does that work? E
Scott Schroeder
Exactly, see if your dome has visability. Then either drop a new material in via the environment slot or map it to a half sphere and go from there. Or, just render against a black background and add in your background in post. I think your easiest option will be to map a half sphere, that way you can easily control the mapping and orientation. That is if you don't choose to do it in post. alfienoakes
Cheers Guys.. I will put that to work this afternoon, but I reckon dome off, and then new background either by environment or sphere... Will let you know how I get on, but im sure you know it will work ;-) Cheers
