remilanza
Hi, I'm new to this forum, and relatively new to 3ds max. I'm having a problem with using video post. So, I made this animation where I'm using 6 cameras, and I want to render it using video post. I set up all the queues in Video post, then set an Image output event, but when I run the render I get the message: "Viewport "Camera002" defined but not found in scene". Then the render would stop. I figured out that if I have the cameras I want to use active in the viewports, it renders with no problem. But I can't imagine that is the only way? Maximum viewports is four if I'm not mistaking. So how could I fix this? Hope you understood what I meant and can help. I tried Google-ing this but I really didn't find anything about it! Thanks Remi
datacrasher
I find video post a wast of time because you cannot use it in the normal render you can only you the render in the video post window so i would can it and buy another special effect program that would suit you're needs VP can only do a certain amount of things
John Dollus
If you must use the videopost utility, You should render out each camera sequence to your HD and then use the image input type in videopost to create your timeline. Use Batch render instead to render out your multiple camera views. It can be found under Rendering->Batch Render. If you just have one system, I'd recommend that over backburner or videopost. All of that said, I'd also recommend you look into a different software package for editing together your footage. Adobe has the new monthly license version which makes Premiere super affordable or there is also Sonys product line (the $50 version would be a step up from videopost)- http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/moviestudiope/compare

remilanza
Ok, I used batch render once and it worked fine. Then I worked a little bit more with my project and I want to render again. But when I use Batch render and start to render, it renders half of the first frame then it stops and get: "Application error: An error has occurred and the application will now close. Do you want to attempt to save a copy of the current scene?" Then 3ds max closes. If I use render setup it works fine and I can render one scene at the time. I can't understand witch settings might be wrong... Hope you can help me with this, thanks.
datacrasher
It may not be the scene Remi it may come down to a bug in the software or not enough memory in you're PC. i would add the lastest service pack in max I get that stupid error application it's usually a blue screen "wer" file it also may come down to a video driver try updating the VGA drivers Edited July 29, 2012 by datacrasher
