dardanvukaj
Hi every one! I'm working with a scene with 480,000 polygons and 3ds max is using a lot of RAM, 8 Gb, and makes crash during work. The 3ds max file is 45 mb. 3d was done with Rhino and i used Floor Generator and Multitexture in max. Has anyone encountered the same problem? How can I do because it is very difficult to work in this situation. I worked with the biggest scene, up to 20 million polygons and I had not this kind of problem. I have a PC with Core i7 960, 12GB Ram, ATI Radeon 5970.
datacrasher
I would add a optimize modifier to reduce the amount of polys can you tell us what error message you get if any or does it just crash with that stiupid error box saying something like sending it to Microsoft"? after that nothing happens annoying I would go to the Autodesk update page and add the latest service pack. Cyberstyle
The problem could be errors in the model or a texture map causing the renderer to crash....and that's only 2 of MANY possible causes. enable, save and check the log files from max and you will be closer to solving the problem. dardanvukaj
Thanks for the replays! I solve the problem. It was the textures of Multitexture and some bad geometry from Rhino causing the problem. I re imported some geometry in other format and use smaller texture in Multitexture.
