As a reference i used this random photo from a street in the historic San Telmo neighborhood here in Argentina. There are a few things that i want to improve, so any suggestion is much appreciated. I will upload another version soon. cheers!
sergiocaparelli
Ok, here is another try at post-production. Same raw render. Can you tell me wich one you like better? btw, can anyone give me some advice regarding Chromatic aberration? i´ve been playing with the one that comes with photoshop but it blurs my images way too much. Ismael
I like the second one better. I played with post which I do not know much of but you can perhaps see other possibilities (hope you don't mind).
sergiocaparelli
Hi Ismael! thanks for the feedback! of course i don´t mind, actually i´m sharing the image to see if i can improve it with a little help. I like how you enhaced the shadows on your version, it looks more realistic, even if being a bit saturated. can you tell me wich proccess did you apply? Right now i like a little bit of each version, i´m gonna take a rest for today and tomorrow give it another shot. thanks for your time!
sergiocaparelli
Ok! i think im done now. I´m quite happy with the result (at least for now ) I re-rendered it and composite the image in 32 bit, because i noticed that i was screwing things up with my gamma settings. Let me know what you think!
ericducos
Your last is definitely better than your first in my opinion. There are still a couple of things that throw me off a bit. If you're like me, after messing with a scene long enough you get a little sick of it and want to move on - Anyway, if you still feel like working on it: I don't think the balloons are transparent/translucent enough - and I don't see how they tie into the scene. I would get it if maybe there was a flower stand somewhere - but as it is I don't see what they add to the theme of the scene (other than color). Lastly, the piece of grey wall (in the top right corner) really threw me off for some reason. It took me a second to realize it was perpendicular to the main perpective lines of the street. Should you add a window there or a rain drain pipe or something?
sergiocaparelli
Hi Eric! thanks so much for your time! I´m really glad that you liked the last image better than the first one. I am a beginner and at this stage, when it comes to post-production, i can turn anything into crap in just a few clicks. Now that you mentioned the wall in the back i can see how horrible it looks, haha. I started the modeling from the foreground and when i got to that wall i was too lazy. Next time a shot of coffee will do the trick. Regarding the balloons, i agree that they look out of place, but i think i will probably add something else to the scene to integrate them better, rather than removing them. I guess that after the hours we spend together im fond of these guys Maybe in a few weeks i will upload another version. I hope you drop by! thanks again!
