I have Done my Diploma In Interior's & 2yrs experience in creating 3d Arch Viz & have completed good no. of projects ..

I have seen Many good artist from background of Photography creating really good Arch-Viz sometimes there own Design & taking part in Competitions .

Now whenever I think of Creating an Exterior Renders Villas & House ( Which i have knowledge of making them ) I always think for the possibility of how it would be executed in real life (Architecturally & Structurally ) & I Stop at some point .

My Ques is :- 1) Is it necessary to be an Architect for doing Arch-Viz ?

2) Can a Person from Interior Design Background join A Architectural firm for Arch-Viz ? if so how many years Experience would he need ?

3) What should be my reply in doing Freelance projects for Exteriors when they ask Are you an Architect to do this ?

Sorry for my Write-Up , i m not so good at it :)

Waiting for some really Helpful and Good Replies :)

1. No it's not necessary but someone with an architecture degree already knows a lot about buildings and will therefore have much less learning to do on the job. That's not to say that someone who doesn't have that degree can't know the same information but many times firms prefer someone with an architecture background over someone who doesn't have one.

2. It really depends on what the firm is looking for and how strong your portfolio is. If you create incredible renderings no one is going to care if your strait out of school or have 10 years experience.

3. You don't have to be an architect to do renderings, there is no license or regulation you must follow. As long as you can create images your client likes you could be a dog catcher it just doesn't matter. The reason you find architects doing this job so often is because they enjoy the process and the results from it more than they do traditional architectural practice, that's why I do it.

Well i have met very few clients on free-lancing basis who give us the freedom to Design when we have the project of presenting them the Renders of the Villa .
