Iain Denby
well here's a low res version of the day time shot. the problems im getting is making those bright mercs look good. Try adding a layer filled with blue. add a layer mask to isolate the mercs. change blending mode to multiply and tone down to suite.
leed
Strat Try braking the image down into areas and use the lighting effects (coloured blue, purpleand yellow orange) in Photoshop, this with a mixture of coloured overlays and levels adjustment should work this is a test very quickly done. JHalton
I did this, 1) Cut Mercs and added them to a new layer. Variation to orange and removed light from underneath, Blacked windows out. Added headlights 2) Reduced main image to Brightness -50 and contrast -50 then again to -35 B +15 C 3) Blurred woman walking across road 4) Added taxi available light 5) Did some downlighters on closest building 6) Added rear lights to cars 7) Added streams of lights and brightened street signs. (reflective) Flattened everything and re-adjusted bricghtness and contrast to suite. Obviously its quite quick and crude but with a bit of time with a high res image you can get something quite nice. I dunno, might be me been s^*t

ziarno
IMO best way is to take picture again. But you can try to make it just painting with blue and yellow and blending some layers with different colours. Regards
STRAT
thanks for the suggestions guy. yes, i've come to the conclusion the best solution is to re-shoot a night time image. converting the day time one just isn't doing it for me
