CEJ1976
Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew if there was a way to emulate sun rays spilling through a set of trees? Does anyone know if this can be done as a render element perhaps using the vray extra text render element perhaps? I have gotten the results I require in the past by rendering a separate vray environment fog pass, but to get a nice smooth result requires quite a bit of rendering! Does anyone have any suggestions please? Thanks.
Corey Beaulieu
If you align a standard direct light to your sun and match their targets, then turn everything in your scene black (use and override material), you can apply the atmospheric effect Volume Light to your direct light. Render that on its own without GI or anything and you will have a pass of what people call "God Rays." In post you can just screen or add this onto your render to remove the black and there you'll have it. The settings can take a bit of tweaking, but when you get them set, its an awesome effect.
