3dvizual
Hi. I am using 3ds max 2013 with vray. In my scenes the gamma suddenly changes from 2.2 to 0.1. I have spoked with chaosgroup and they tell me that it is not a Vray issue but Max problem. Anyone have this kind of problem before?. I have tried deleting the 3dsmax.ini file. But that didn't help either. I have tried reinstalling the soft. That did'nt help either. And yes it is a legal version of 3ds max and vray. Hope for your support. Scott Schroeder
What are your Max Gamma settings? The ones in the Preferences. What are your Vray color mapping settings? Please post screencaps of both of these areas so we can check your set up. I'm willing to bet you have something set up with the wrong value in it. How are you saving your gamma? When does this happen? On save, on display/render?
aotLine
I think you use SolidRocks plugin? If you use this plugin, you have to change some settings in options menu as it gamma. Because SolidRocks trying to take the control of render settings.
3dvizual
Sorry my late answer. Yes I use Solidrocks. Is this the program which changes my settings.? It offens happens when i import an object or change som materials. It is diffucult to say when it happens. Which settings do I haft to change in SR. I have Gamma set to 2.2 here also. I use Linear color mapping with 1.0 in dark, bright and clamp.
aotLine
Actually its simple, only click and turn off gamma button (sometimes it may be overlooked) Details: When you turned off this button, SR leaves the control of gamma setting to user. Then you can change this setting like you wanted, under "Rendering > Gamma/LUT Setup> Gamma"
