Forget new features.....make 3D Max stable

As the title suggests....I'm less concerned with new features as there are always work arounds, thats what great about the 3d modeling environment, there is more than one way to skin a cat so to speak.

My main concern with max its how unstable it its, and how it had never been addressed through the annual releases. I have been using 3d max since 8 and I encounter on a daily basis the bug which results in max momentarily hanging then getting the "3d max encountered an error and had to close etc" message. This can be caused by moving a vertex, moving a polygon, undoing several times, or any of a number of standard modeling tasks. Like I mentioned I have used every version off max since 8 and on many different hardware set ups all the way up to 24 gig, hex core machine but it makes no difference.

A little bit of a rant I know, but I am curious to know if anyone else experiences these joys of max :-)

Regards

Will

I've been having my issues also. As a teacher I have unlimited access to everything Autodesk produces. I use Max, Mudbox and AutoCAD the most, and have had various problems. I always try to think " what did I do to cause that..." and try not to repeat it. I also save my work (cntrl+s) every couple of minutes. I now use version 2013 of the titles I mentioned, and for the most part they're pretty stable.
