warwickw1
hi all, after importing a drwaing from autocad and producing the 3d model, my surfaces appear broken and jaaged when viewed in shaded mode. i have cleaned up the autocad drawing and purged and audited etc, but when i bring it into Rhino and start modelling i have the same problem. These errors come up in the final render too. I have no way of drawing it over as whenever the oblects are copied over, they 'contaminate' the new file. is there a way of fixing this issue? thanks Warwick
Peter M. Gruhn
I'm mostly clueless on this, but I wonder if it's an origin issue. Or maybe a units issue. Models made way far away from 0,0 can have trouble moving from program to program (and even sometimes trouble in the start program). Models made really tiny and imported really big (etc) may also have trouble. Make sure your units settings in each program and during import/export are sane. warwickw1
Thanks Peter - i tried scaling the model up by 1000 times and it worked, but not 100%. I'll try moving it to the origin point to see if it helps.
