skala67
I know it has to be somewhere, but who are the top dogs right now in the industry, In the US and not in the US. It has been a while since I was last in the industry and I'm not sure who is out there anymore. Thanks!

John Dollus
interesting to go through that thread from a few years ago and see how things have changed. Smoothe changed over to assemblystudios. neighborhood, greengrass and uniform have all placed more emphasis on the branding sector. studioswim and imagenius seem to be dissolved and evvisual has all of their home page links redirected to medical advertisements. Scott Schroeder
The studios that switched over to branding as well as visualization have survived and thrived in this recession. The studios, like the one I used to work at and countless others, that decided to live and die by the housing markets have perished. Though, most of those studios were doomed to fail anyways, founded by people who thought they could make a quick buck and realized that they have no business skills what so ever so when the recession came. By the way, the company I worked for was listed in the top for revenue in 2007 (http://forums.cgarchitect.com/27360-list-top-arch-viz-studios-individuals-7.html#post188906). At the end of 2008, they laid off 90% of their workforce. We are talking 90 employees down to 10 in a span of a year. They are still around, but a fraction of what they used to be. Looking at the product they are producing today it is no different than in 2007. To go 5 years and not improve anything is one of the reason this company saw such a dramatic drop. They peaked, decided they were the best and didn't need to innovate. I mean, 5 years and not even updating their people library. They still use the same awful 3d people with pancake hands.
