Capital
I'm still using 7.5 (now "d") for my vis stuff, and when I look at what's new in 8, I don't really see anything that I need to have or that would increase productivity enough to justify the upgrade. So based on your experience, is there anything I'm missing out on by not upgrading yet? Thanks!
MooseDog
not for building boxes, no. if you really want to separate yourself from some cash tho , buy fprime (if you haven't already). texturing/lighting/scene setting goes SO much faster. Capital
FPrime was a purchase that I saw the benefits of immediately, so no worries there. Thanks for your input.
exception
I find the immensely improved stability a definate plus. I like 8, im an arch visualiser. Supershift is excellent, and Textured wireframe view is superhandy. Its feels and acts much more solid. Scene ditor is much better, integrates spreadsheet... Uv mapping is easier and clearer... just a lot of small things that really makes it feel better.
Capital
Thanks for the reply. Its a couple months late, but thanks all the same. Seriously though, Newtek just came out with a new offer for upgrading to 8 that includes RealViz ImageModeler 4. Now, with that added in to sweeten the deal, I'm pretty much sold. Looks like a great tool to have in the box for Arch Vis. Later, Chris
exception
Well to my opinion ImageModeler is a piece of crap. Pretty useless in fact. Very expensive gimmick. Its much easier to just take a photo, stretch it in photoshop so that it is planar, and then map it on... the hassle of Imagemodeler is... humongous... just my opinion though. Allen
Looks like some good improvements to the renderer and to SDK in LW 8.2. Should be released soon.
