I have a couple types of Array 3d, Itoo's clone etc. Modifer based arrays are cool.

Let me second and third the mention of Soulburn. That goes in first for me after an install. Set aside some time to see which ones are good for you and which aren't. I love the object attacher/detachers.

There's a script, I can't remember what it's called, "Primitive Maker" maybe. I can't quite get a clean install, but it doesn't take much fussing. You feed it a mesh and it makes a primitive out of it with even a size roller (I don't know if it implements this cleverly of if you run into "don't use object scaling" issues.) So there's "Standard" and "Complex" and "Mental Ray" and now... "Gruhn" sections on the create list. I like it better than merging or something.

I have had some very happy use of some features of Miauu's workplane. Ten bucks well spent and he's really good with the support.

And then, there's my own scripts. Some of them duplicate functionality already available through only two more clicks, and mine have like no error checking so if I use them wrong, I'm sure they'll break. I have a button that moves an object to 0,0,0. I have a button that moves an object's pivot to center floor of the object. One click. Happy. I'm sure there's your own scripts that need to be written to make your life exactly as awesome as you want.

I'll say that VRay MAterial Control is a must for any serious visualisation user! It's ability to change materials en mass is so handy! I'd say i use it daily. I agree floor generator is also extremely useful, i also use the to create ceiling grids. ;-) Merge by layer is extremely useful too.

I can't believe no one has mentioned the Blur Scripts package too...... Blur Scripts

Just to get it our there here's a handy script i wrote to create multisub objects with random colours and material names already applied. Give it a go! http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/scripts/multisub-object-material-creator

isnt everything from Soulburn possible in max 2012?

There are some things that have equivalents in 2012 (object painter for one). However there are many other things in there that are still handy

- Object detacher

- Transform randomizer

- wireframe colour randomizer

- Object Replacer

... are a few I use a bit

For Vray I would also recommend getting Lele's tools. I use his Light Monkey and View/Camera converter a lot
