abctnietsch
Hello gys.... I have a scene in 3ds max with a 3d object(sofa) and put it in a real footage in 3ds max. I have put my HDRi image in a VrayLightdome...everything works fine, but... The problem is, that the 3d object generate less shadows on the ground.... I have puted a vray sun in the scene -> this generate good shadows... The problem is now, that the sun is change the color + reflections... of my 3d Object... Is it possible to generate only shadows from the sun without change the look of my 3d-Object-Material ??? !see images below!
matthewgriswold
Play with the Affect Specular, Affect Diffuse settings, in the sun options.
salvador
Your material shouldn't react this way to direct sunlight. Check your material properties. Try grabbing some leather material from the web or other objects to test. And just thinking twice, the planks are on the HDRI, right? I think your object is being lit from underneath as well. I like the first one.
babakr18
If you want to get shadow from hdri just decrease gamma (to 0.7) in vrayhdri slot.
