Scott Schroeder Posted September 10, 2012 Share Posted September 10, 2012 The UVW tools in Max 2012 and 2013 aren't nearly as bad as they used to be. It really depends on what you are wanting to unwrap. Max does hard surfaces very well but can struggle on organic meshes. Some external UVW programs are quite good like Roadkill as well as UVLayout. The biggest thing to remember that it is not the program, but it is the quality of the mesh. If the mesh topology makes no sense, it will be impossibly hard to unwrap it no matter what program you use. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
