Tips On Improvement

You have really bright colors and that's throwing things off. Your reds are super red, etc. Try desaturating your whole scene a bit, you can just to this in Photoshop as you have way more control. Your windows are looking a little too dead, try increasing the reflectivity on the glass to catch more of the environment. The glass running down the center spine is desperately in need of some reflections.

What is that reflective area in the front? Is that water? If it is, there is no barrier around it and the paving matches the parking lot. So if I come home one night, I could drive right into a fountain or pool?

You need to make sure all of your landscape elements match. The tree in the foreground is clearly a fall tree, yet the rest of your foliage is clearly spring/summer. So either the foreground tree is dead or the seasons change as they get closer to your camera.

Please, ditch the birds. Why are there always birds in the rendering? Plus, the size of those birds means they must be long lost dragons flying through the air.

You need to ensure full continuity between all of the little elements in your scene. You can fix all of the big ticket items like materials and lighting, but you scene will still never look realistic if you overlook the little things.

ha ha ah, true.

utathya ghosh, not much to add to Scott's reply, but indeed, the first thing off at a glance for me was the materials.

Thank you Scott for your invaluable suggestions. One thing i forgot to mention in my previous post was that i wasnt involved in the design aspects of the project. The colors i cannot do anything about except maybe desaturate the whole scene a bit like you said. All the other things you pointed out really helped and i will certainly pay attention to these details from now on. I also did a night time render of this same scene. Do take a look.

Thanksfinal night.jpg a lot!

As VelvetElvis has already elaborated on almost everything, I only would want to find out what exactly you mean by tips on improvement, may be I am wrong but the second render still has same design flaws like the vehicles entering from that (faraway) arch would straight land up (?) in the water body. Also the lights are all same colour and intensity in the whole building. Even on pooja nights that would be a far fetched imagination, at the most. :)

Hope this is taken in the right context and spirit.

I think the night shot looks much better than the previous render. You have shown some serious improvement. However, the comment about the pool still stands. You need some sort of fence around the pool. You would never have a pool that close to a parking lot with no sort of fencing. You can still drive right over people sunbathing and into the pool.

The buildings in the background being blurred vertically doesn't really do anything for me either.
