philipnoland
http://forums.cgarchitect.com/38791-render-status-bar-missing.html From a previous thread that has been closed. I am having the same problem with a missing render status bar. The header is shows upon render but the progress bar does not. In the solution given here: Close Max Locate your 3dsmax.ini. On my system it’s in C:\Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Application Data\Autodesk\3dsmax\9 - 32bit\enu\ Open it in Notepad and search for “RenderProgressDialogPosition” - you’ll find this [RenderProgressDialogPosition] Dimension=47 101 379 244 Change the 1st 2 numbers ONLY (47 and 101 in my case, will be different for you) to 0 and 0 Save the file, restart Max. The Dialog should appear at the top left of your display next time you render. I cannot find the 3dsmax.ini seems as if I cannot search for it or locate it in Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit Can anyone suggest a solution for me? philipnoland
I found it, the search results were slow. It was infact, where it needed to be and said it would be. I changed the dimensions and it accurately placed the window into the top right corner. I then tried to change all number to 0. It was not showing up. I couldn't remember the original numbers so I changed the last 2 numbers to 39 & 244. Previously I was restarting Max this time I just save the file an viola! Render Status Bar back to how it use to be. Oh how I missed thee.
Josef Wienerroither
Next time i would recommend using this script: http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/scripts/give-me-back-my-dialogs it helps to reposition your dialogs onto your screen again, especially after you swithc from dual to single monitor for example
amer abidi
Here's a quick solution for lost windows and dialogues. Hit render, then as the image is rendering hit: Alt, left button, down, down, ENTER. Now move your mouse and hit the left button again. Your missing window should be locked onto and following your mouse cursor till you click it again! =) hope it helps.
