danielblewitt
Hello! I'd like to introduce the worlds first real time, cloud based, physically accurate renderer. Its called Bloom Unit and its been developed by the company I work at in Melbourne, Australia. When i say it renders in real time, i mean seconds, not hours to render. The lighting is also entirely physically accurate. For more information please check http://www.bloomunit.com or http://www.youtube.com/bloomunit (the most informative content is at the youtube channel) I've also attached a series of renders from Bloom Unit. Best! Daniel
Nic H
sounds very interesting! i don't understand how the 'cloud computing' thing works though? can i connect loads of computers to the one rendering via the internet? the documentation on your website isn't very good we are based in melbourne as well - any plans for a standalone or 3dsmax integration? danielblewitt
sounds very interesting! i don't understand how the 'cloud computing' thing works though? can i connect loads of computers to the one rendering via the internet? the documentation on your website isn't very good we are based in melbourne as well - any plans for a standalone or 3dsmax integration? It runs on the amazon servers in the US, so you have a Bloom Unit account that connects to those and runs your session on those servers, allowing you to use any computer you like as long as it has an internet connection (and can run sketchup!). We are offering options for offices to be able to either get iray directly or a local Bloom Unit that they run on a big server of their own and all their computers connect to it, hence negating the cloud price! If you like I can come by your offices in Melbourne and speak to you in person about it? Message me if you're interested.

danielblewitt
Bloom Unit is now free to download and use. Bloom Unit is a cloud based, physically accurate renderer for Sketchup, now downloadable for free. Coming with one free hour you can trial and test with, users then purchase more hours at $6 an hour. Simply head over to http://www.bloomunit.com to download now, also don't forget to check http://www.youtube.com/bloomunit for more movies and interesting features! Note; We are aware of an issue when arraying our light objects where it creates two lights ontop of each other at the terminal point of the array. This is being fixed as we speak. Please post any questions you might have and I'll do my best to answer promptly. Enjoy!

danielblewitt
Hello all, I've created a 3D warehouse collection of compatible Bloom Unit scenes. I'll be adding to it over the coming days, at the moment there are only three, but if you want to explore a scene with lighting and materials already applied you can try these. http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/cldetails?mid=886ddd8b1171375c549aea9f300237 Have fun!
