Devin Johnston
I just installed some of the new updates for 3D studio 2012 and I'm experiencing a significant slowdown in rendering when using Vray. I want to restore max back to where it was without having to reinstall everything, does anyone know if I can do this?
Scott Schroeder
Can you do it through windows, such as you can roll back a driver install? Short of that, I think the only other solution is an uninstall and update to the last working version. When you uninstall, Max thankfully keeps everything in your UI and even your scripts so you don't have to reset everything back to how you like it. What update did you install? I've got Max 2012 fully updated and I'm not seeing any slowdown in Vray.
matthewgriswold
Also, if you do end up re-installing, make sure to do an "install with options", or "custom install" (can't remember the terminology) and un-check to download and install updates....or, you'll end up right back where you are. Devin Johnston
The problem seems to have fixed it's self, I rebooted my machine and the slowdown is gone thanks for the help though.
