stayinwonderland
I'm just trying out 3ds max 2012 with vray 2 and previously (in 2010) you could access the RT render through the viewport name dropdown. It's not there. Any suggestions?
Corey Beaulieu
Hit F10. in the Common Tab of the Render Settings you need to assign the renderer. You can set it so that Vray RT is your Active shade. Once you do that it should be able to launch RT from the Viewport. Right click on the Viewport Name > Extended Viewports > Active Shade. stayinwonderland
Ah, that's great. Only thing now is, it's displaying black. Any suggestions on troubleshooting that?
Corey Beaulieu
Not entirely. Mine crashes to black a lot... so there's that. You have lights in your scene right? RT doesn't work with certain material types and doesn't support sub-pixel mapping. Maybe start there. A material override and untick SPM. It also wouldn't blow my mind if RT only support Vray Cams. Make sure you are using one.
stayinwonderland
No good. It says "waiting for render request on port bla". It's not even trying to render. Cheers anyway
