sparksue
Hi there, Been through alot of cloth tut but it's seem that i can't hit on the objects..and my plane always just gone through the collision object.. how to solve this issue? Thanks!
AubreyM
If you start your animation with the cloth object within the collision radius of the collision object it will sink through the collision object. Make sure that your collision object is enabled in the cloth properties dialog as well. Try increasing the collision radius a little and see if that helps. Holzi
Did you check the Offset parameter in your collision object?
sparksue
Hi, what offset do you mean? I try the instruction that you guys mention, somehow it's work and no sometime. I try to decease the offset from 1 to 0.5 and work, it work but the plane will eat into the box as well. One thing i note that when i click Simulate local, the speed went so fast that the plane doesn't touch the boxes that i create. (This include Simulate Local (damped), however when i click simulate, it works but the problem is that i have to stop after hitting 100 / 100 point. (animation) Is there any way that i solve this issues? Thanks in advance!
Stephen Thomas
If you're using metric measurements try setting your scene units to cm. I don't know why, but cloth sims seem to mess up using any other values.

But I tend to use mm, which mean i have to change the metric whenever I need to do the clothing? Troublesome...
Stephen Thomas
Or inches, I can't remember but definitely had this problem before. Maybe try with both and see if it makes a difference.

NeWAcEiN
Create a rectangle in TOP view and apply Garment modifier, now just collapse stack to poly.now apply turbosmooth with subD of 1 collapse it again to poly now apply cloth modifier from modifier menu, now for collision create a sphere or Box sphere is good though. alright now select cloth object and from it select object properties add collision object to it and make it collision object now hit ok select cloth again and click on simulate local and see what is the outcome if cloth is passing through play with offset value under collision object modifier in cloth menu
AubreyM
I just had a thought. What are you using for a collision object? Don't use a plane or the inside of a box. Create a piece of geometry like a box and use that as the collision object. Also make sure that self collisions is checked.

Yes, I create a box-like geometry without doing inside the box. Is self Collisions checked a must? I checked it but still it doesn't work. I see what i can do. Appreciate your tips as well. Will checked on it whenever I need to do collision. Will keep trying till it works. Cheers!
