nachoangulo
Studio/Institution: IndependentGenre: Residential ExteriorSoftware: 3ds Max Design, Vray, PhotoshopDescription: Hi, I was wondering how to make this more photorealistic. Is it about the render itself or about the Post Production? Thanks
salvador
Turn down the exposure for starters.
nachoangulo
I actually overexposed it on purpose, I thought it gave the lightning more realism. This is the before exposed PD: why my attachments lose so much quality?
salvador
Ok. Exposure will work, but not too much. I also think you grass is playing tricks on you. I recommend you start looking for photos and renders of similar projects and compare your ground with others and draw some conclusions of your own. Your concrete is not what it should. Do the same for 3d concrete walls. Also, check your glass material. It's virtually transparent and it should reflect a lot more. Check your fresnel value and push it up to around 2.5. Rich O
That's something I always wonder, is the IOR of glass not about 1.6? Basically, should we have the refractive IOR at 1.6, but unlock the fresnel IOR and have it higher? On topic, I love your trees Nacho! Your vignetting is very intense though but that's a style preference.
nachoangulo
I probably should have clearly stated that all the environment was added with photoshop. This is the raw (attached)
salvador
Ahhhhh! That's why. Turn your glass settings back and use an Environment Override to have the glass reflect something other than empty sky. Or light the scene with a VRay dome light and an HDRI of your choice mapped on it; this way you get natural reflections on the glass and other reflective surfaces. Just and alternative; there are more ways to do it.
nachoangulo
I'll try it. Thanks
coloredfloorplans
The concrete texture looks a bit bad in my opinion and the interior could use some more detail. It's to empy now. Also maybe you should add some dirt at the base of the building, seeing as the grass is up to the building it the base of the building would get dirty. And whats up with the roofshape? Should i be able to look at the top of the roof? Jack http://www.coloredfloorplans.com
