dpizarrom
Hi guys. I've trying to solve and issue with vray all morning with no possitive result so far. I wonder if someone could help me. The thing is that when i render my exterior view i get a few splotches on it. I've heard that it could be something with the hdri. I'm using one of the non commercial hdri images from VIzPEople. Does anybody know how to fix this? It all seems to work just fine with lower output resolutions, like 800x600, but when going for 3000x... The splotches appear. I would really appreciate any advice on how to solve this. Thanks!

dpizarrom
This is the image I get. There are some green blotches and white dots in the trees. I already tried to remove the hdri from environment but got the same problem.
Ismael
http://forums.cgarchitect.com/28616-white-dots-my-vray-rendering-help.html Also, is it the same result if you use a VraySky?
dpizarrom
Ismael. The problem was due to the fact that the material of the leaves had grey, instead of black, in the refraction settings. I don't really know why that was an issue but it seems to be working fine now. Thank you very much for your help.

cg_Butler
David. That may be because objects that have a refraction that are single sided faces can cause problems with Vray. If you want it to have a bit of transparency then you can put a vray colour in the opacity slot that is grey. This will make the leaves transparent, but not refract the light. Devin Johnston
This happens when you put an HDRI in the environment slot, I don't know why but removing it and putting a Vray Sky there will fix the problem.
