Chris MacDonald
Time lapse sky shot. I have a building and I'd like to put a time lapse sky in (above/behind it) to create an animation, but have the sky also picked up in reflections of both the glass AND the water in the foreground of the shot. I'm in two minds whether to do it in max, or do it in post. How would you guys go about it?
John Dollus
do it in post. render a mask for the glass and use the same timelapse as the background but offset the sequence and adjust for perspective. Same for the water. clouds are random enough that nobody will pick up on it being the same background if you offset the time between the elements
Tommy L
Are you shooting the timelapse your self? If so, get a towards and away shot of each frame. Two cameras would be best. Then put them on cards in Max, VRaylight mat (if youre using Vray). Will give best results. If youre using a purchased one, I'd do it the same but it depends what the angle of your glass is. Post a render, its easier to judge.
