martinengdahl
Studio/Institution: KTH StockholmGenre: Residential InteriorSoftware: Sketchup, IndigoDescription: Hi! I am a first year architecture student at KTH in Stockholm, and I recently started using Sketchup and Indigo (2 weeks ago). Even though I feel Indigo can produce some pretty nice results out of the box, I would like to know what I need to do to make things look as realistic as possible. This is a shot from the interior of a cabin that we are drawing for this weeks assignment; my goal is to make the inside feel like the outside, but cozy. The vertical sections are there to create spaces in between them to simulate trees, and the ceiling/roof is supposed to be a stylized version of trees for the light to sift through. I only have one render, but the cabin is extremely small, and all the materials and lighting are evident in this scene. Any help would be appreciated! Btw, I did spot the tiling textires.... /Martin
aaronmolina
This is a very good start. If that is all the furniture u want in your scene (which is perfectly fine), then I would probably rotate the chair a little because it's being lost. It'll make it more appealing to see that little bit of detail. Also, the ceiling looks like it's at an odd angle. If it's meant to be at an angle like that, then u should look at your composition. Where the top cuts off makes it look a bit odd. And there a repetetive nature to your texture on the floor. Maybe that needs to be tweeked a little. Lastly, for the lighting, try adding a secondary light behind the chair. (But, not as strong as your primary light) I can't wait to see it finished!!
