toms200
I am importing a SU model to Max. When Max imports, it is only writing a single texture from the SU model to my assigned texture folder. Is this a SU or Max problem?
xEndlessxUrbiax
From the materials library in Max, did you try to use the eyedrop tool on one of your surfaces to pick up the material? Or did you try to (once again from the Slate Material Editor) go to Material>Get all Materials from Scene?
toms200
Yes, I can get the materials with the editor. I am talking about the actual texture jpegs that Max is supposed to write during the import. The SU model has around 20 textures in it. After importing into Max, only one of the texture jpegs shows up in the textures folder. I can manually export the texture jpegs from SU to the texture folder and they work fine. It seems like a problem with Max's import function, but I can't see anywhere to fix it. The only options I know of are in the import dialog that asks you where to save the textures. xEndlessxUrbiax
I use that importer very often and have never come across that problem... The only thing I can think of, besides the Max import malfunctioning (did you try to download the latest updates?), is that maybe the locations of the textures in Sketchup are in a location that Max can access when it tries to access them. Sketchrender
Check the c drive, my documents. They usually go in there and then, cut them to you main materials folder or a commonly shared folder for network rendering.
Francisco Penaloza
I have the same problem, it been for a while on Max, I recommend check the object naming inside sketch up, everything with the same name will be using only one texture, also the name of the materials has to be different. Usually if you export from Sketch up as 3ds you should not have that problem.
