cg_Butler
This is interesting..........I've never used Forest Pro either but watched a few tuts and videos on it. I will be keeping an eye on this thread.
Chris MacDonald
If you'd read a bit more, you'd see that the chaps from multiscatter replied to that thread and said that development hasn't stopped, just one of their programmers left is all. I can assure you that VRayPattern is still under development as all our other plugins saying more, VRayPattern for Maya is also under development we do have more very skilled programmers here at iCube R&D Group now we agree that some posts on our forum sometimes gets unnoticed, but our email support deals with every single problem promptly we always take feature requests into consideration, unfortunately its not always possible to implement due to technical limitations or stability issues, we use our products heavily in our own production so we are interested ourselves in having efficient and reliable tools. AubreyM
I use Forest Pack Pro and I absolutely love it. Easy to use, lots of options, renders fast. The HQ plants/trees are nice too. If you are thinking about it, give the lite version a try, it's free and all the features are there except you are limited to three (I think) different objects and you can only use it on flat surfaces. So aside from some slope options and such it will give you a good overview of what it can do. Nothing against muliscatter but Forest Pro is my first choice. Hris
Well, my company has Forest Pack Pro and i'm using my own trees from ATree3D script. Well - It's magic way how Forest Pack Pro is distributing thousands of plants and using totally low RAM:) Options are just perfect! Especially using splines like INCLUDE and EXCLUDE areas. Preparing large areas of cities, streets and parks are easy like never before:) few splines at 3d scene at you have TOTAL control over almost every plant. And my favourite feature - PAINTING trees by hand (putting trees in place where you want). You can form arcs, some strange lines and other shapes on ground with your own plants...And soft is cheap:) Updates are almost regular (periodical - 3-4 months). alekseyilchenko
I would like to ask you all, why you prefer one soft to another (Multyscatter and Itoo Forest pack) ? Pros and cons. Thank you.
Nils Norgren
One major deal breaker for us with Multiscatter is the licensing, Forest pack pro has network licensing, with a large office with many artists, it is very important to be able to manage licenses across our environment. This may be a nerdy reason, but this is a fundamental reason for us using FPP over Multiscatter. -Nils - Neoscape
