Too many polygons selected

Its me again :D

 

When I try to select a polygon in my scene to detach it, loads are selected. Its only those certain polygons that do it.

 

I need to detach the ceiling and the windows.

Also, while im here does anyone know the best way to add wallpaper to the walls. Is it to apply the material to the wall then UVW Unwrap and adjust it to look right??

Remove by Angle option from Selection Rollout, then you can select one polygone as in Default.

good way to mapping your walls by activate polygone Mode and give each wall as ID #, then you can add uvw map for each face in each time you

have to apply new Edit Poly Modifier for each new face .

You really should just rebuild that with separate elements. As long as edges are in the same plane, you won't see a line. Then if you want several objects to have the same mapping, select them all at once and apply a UVW map. This will use one map across all objects and your tiling will look just fine. If you mess up, just delete the UVW Map, reselect what you want it applied to, and do it again. This is also how you add objects to the material type.
