3dsmax 2013 Render Button Drop Down Menu Missing

Typically, in 3ds Max 2013, when someone clicks on the arrow button next to the large 'Render' button, a drop down list appears giving you the option to render locally, or the network etc. And while this works for my neighbors, my copy of max does not display the options when I press on the arrow. I've tried removing Max, and re-installing it, but it still stays as is. Anyone else come across this, and if resolved how???
