AubreyM
Nice start. The materials are really flat though and could use some reflection. The rough wood texture is not the greatest. The deck could use some bump/displacement or model the boards.
Umesh Raut
The scale is an issue here for me. Is that a duck pond? Barely three bar chairs or four tiles wide couldn't be a pool for people. There is something wrong with the scaling of the whole model in general. Please check that and your camera settings bro, before you work on the shader stuff. markf
Hi, Thanks for your reply. the scale is correct, the model is real size and based on imported ACAD drawings. I didn't design this, just did the rendering. It's a two person infinity edge soaking pool, not a full size swimming pool. The architect requested a wider view so here is the updated version: http://www.openrangeimaging.com/Test/east02.jpg also did another view. here it is for comments: http://www.openrangeimaging.com/Test/west02.jpg thanks! Umesh Raut
Dear Mark, Still that scale looks 'just not right' to me, I may be wrong. Like in real life, we get to see around 140-150 degrees wide view from both eyes, stitched, curved (as in Photoshop curves) and perspective corrected in the brain, though science says its only 48 deg. May be that's what we focus to, but the peripheral vision adds to overall experience. And to get that, I normally take wide angle and vignetting route. The second (full view) image looks good and in scale. The lack of shadows is what's putting it out of general comfort zone. I don't presume you have done that on purpose. Methinks rendering the shadows pass separately to composit with various levels of intensity may come in handy. Compliments of the season to you and all the readers and members. Have a great time, all. p.s. forgot to mention earlier - if its ACAD import then its quite possible to get the scale wrong, because drafters usually use different units setup than MAX's inches.
