Sketchup gray users please help!

Out of all the downloads from 3d warehouse in my model (although none directly imported into my model) I finally have found what is slowing down my rendering so badly...the one thing I actually made! It's a pendant light and there is about 10 of them hanging in the main dining area of my restaurant model. It wasn't that complicated to make, and I even took the omni light out of it to try and make it render faster...didn't work. Then I realized I never made it a component and thought maybe this would compress all the geometry in my light...so I made it a component and still no help! I am new at this so any suggestions would help. I am rendering on default settings, and I just don't understand how my own model is the thing slowing my rendering down. Out of all the unknown components out there...figures. How can this be? Also my rendering is slow, but progresses, I don't mind waiting forever at this point, I just want it to work, but it freezes half way through...I think it's running out of spAce...my model isn't even that big! Does anyone know if increasing the memory under the system tab in the vray option manager will possibly keep my render from crashing?

 

Thanks for your help in advanced! This is my second post, thanks to the few that replied...nothing really has helped so far. Once again my settings are default so no reason to post a pic of my settings if your familiar with default.
