flore33
Hi, I d like to know more about the irradiancemap, how it work. I am wondering if it is possible to render the frame at half of the size for example ,for example if you render for hd, could you built your irradiance map at 1024\576. or will you have artifacts? My map is taking a lot of time to built so I am wondering if in some way I could speed up the process. Thanks
Corey Beaulieu
You can.... It is common for animation frames that don't have finite detail to be rendered with an IRR at half res. The detail is, after all, what the IRR Map is all about. This pass determines where your image's geometry is most complex versus where it is the least complex. This leads to Vray creating more samples at the detailed points so that accuracy goes up and then where the geometry might be a planar surface it creates very few samples. It all helps Vray create the most accurate render in the least amount of time.
