Michael J. Brown
I just got 3dsMax 2013 installed and noticed now that each time I hit 'Q' (Selection tool hot key), my Selection Mode toggles through each of the 5 options instead of just staying on the one I use 99% of the time - Rectangle. I've had this issue before (in previous versions of Max) but forgot how to turn off that automatic toggle feature. How do I get it to use only one selection mode (until I go and select a different one)? Additionally, 'Z' (zoom hot key) used to work on all viewports simultaneously. Now it only works on my active viewport. How do I get it to work on all viewports again? Thanks!
Krisztian Gulyas
It annoys me either, but I dont know how to turn that automatic switching off. By default the Z hotkey is assigned to "zoom extents selected". You have to assign in to "zoom extents all selected", than it will work the way you want it. Michael J. Brown
Thanks Krisztian. This at least solves half the problem.
Michael J. Brown
Got it. For the Selection Hotkey, re-assign 'Q' to "Select Object".
