brainspoon
I have to admit that I am not into Sketchup at all. Just want to integrate it into the render manager RenderPal, so our customers can use it to render Sketchup animations. So is there a way to render Sketchup scenes from the command line? Pretty tough to find anything on this toppic. Seems Google did not develop it with that in mind. With regards Andreas
Chris MacDonald
Yeah you can batch render, kind of. You need to (in model info) turn off animation/scene transitions, set the scene delay to 0 seconds. Then export an animation with your required resolution, though you will be limited to either a 16:9 or 4:3 aspect ratio.
brainspoon
Well my goal was to distribute the rendering over many machines on a render farm. For that I have to find a way to control the render process from the command line and render an image out for each frame.
brainspoon
The first steps are done. At the moment the one client will output an 2D image of every scene in a Sketchup project. I will extend it so far, that you can split the rendering of the scenes over multiple machines.
brainspoon
Would be awesome if some of you could provide me complex scenes for testing. Even better would be if you have setups with different renderers, so I can check that too. Thanks
