Corey Beaulieu
I don't use C4D, but I do use Vray. It looks like your Reflection Environment map is set to Frontal. Use Spherical instead.
arthurvelly
Thank Corey, yes I know majority of you are not using C4D, but Vray settings are almost identical in all apps I guess.I tried all projection in the map type before posting but nothing.BTW, here is how it s look with spherical thanks a lot for your time Arthur Edited January 7, 2013 by arthurvelly
Stephen Thomas
Try dropping the cutoff value in your spec layer down from 0.01 to 0.001 and see if that helps.
arthurvelly
Thanks a lot Mr Thomas, but unfortunally this didn't change the result. Its almost 4 days I m googling and reading docs about glass mat in Vray and I tweak almost all btn and values, but I can't understand where is my mistake. All glasses have the same tickness and material (I was plaining to change some glasses once solved this issue ) Thanks for your time, Arthur
Stephen Thomas
That looks like the refraction cutoff value, did you also change the specular one?
arthurvelly
yes but no change, and in order to for you to have a little more info I changed the cam angle. I like the way reflection looks now on this frame but I still have some strange behavior going on... BTW Thanks a lot for your super fast answers here guys, I really apreciate. arthurvelly
It was a model issue, after changing the actual glass polygon with simple a cube the problem has been solved, and the glass material looks ok. Thanks for your superfast help. Arthur Edited January 8, 2013 by arthurvelly
Francisco Penaloza
I am pretty sure that the problem was that you had a single plane instead a 2 side mesh, then between your IOR =1.6 will give you very distort transparency, once you put a cube(2 sided mesh as glass) then the IOR worked in a better way. VRay can work with single side panels but is is recommended always to use 2 sides unless is water. also you can set up different IOR for reflections and for refraction, let say 1.54 for reflection and 1.1 for transparency. also you should be using the reflection layer instead the specular to get accurate results
arthurvelly
Gracias Francisco, I really apreciate your extra tips,I will make some test with your suggestions, i was planing to tweak on the glasses in order to give them a little beat of randomless from one to another since not all glasses are made at the same time and tickness.I m sure your tips will help me in this direction. Thanks a lot and I hope to get your advise again in the future.
