absbla
Guys, anyone know how to fix this issue, is it because i am calculating the light cache on different computers. or is it to do with something else completely. I am using the method where by i pre calculate the light cache. then load it for the rendering. any pointers would go a long way.
Corey Beaulieu
What are we looking at? It looks more like Irradiance samples to me, Like you have Show Samples ticked.
absbla
Hi,this is a screen grab from the finial rendering. so, what i did first is pre-calculate the light cache, and then after all this was done, i rendered the whole animation out. the result being that some frames have these darke areas. when it should really all be light. I just dont understand whats going wrong in the Pre-calcualtion
Corey Beaulieu
are you using light cache as your primary or secondary or both?
absbla
i am using light cache as the secondary, but this is only for the Pre-calculation. after the precalculation, i switch the secondary to None and change the settings Issadince map mode to Animation Rendering. to be honest am not to familiar with this process, i looked up some tutorials and tried to do it. but i keep getting these areas where the light cache is some how missing. Corey Beaulieu
1>Try instead of none, load from file and load your saved light cache. 2>Up the Interpolations to more than 2. Try 5. At the very least this will reduce flickering. 3>Your HSph/Iterp Subdiv balance seems way off. Usually you would just us half the HSph value for your Interpolation and 70/35 is a decently high setting. 4> I would use Screen Samples for you Light Cache, a number Equal to the number of cores you have for the Number of Passes (4 or 8) and if you tick Use Light Cache for Glossy Rays you can speed things up a little. I would also put the Interp Samples back up to 10 which is default. Lastly, when all else fails, I would start from scratch. it is also possible that somethng got corrupt or just generally went wrong the first time through. Corey Beaulieu
not for nothing, but that is another default value that you seemed to have change. I'm glad you resolved your issue and were kind enough to share the resolution. I would recommend though that when trying new things, stay with default values where the new thing doesn't specify an answer.
