First job

In 2000 a local architect required illustrations for a major project in Winnipeg. He asked someone I knew for recommendations. I was recommended and hired. At the time I had a 300mhz G3 and a 450mhz G3. There were 3 renderings @ ~5000 pixels across. Luckily Cinema is rock solid and handled everything just fine and I continued to be hired for further work :D

Combined with teaching, this paid my way through grad school.

I had an architect friend who worked in a firm and she put me forward during a bidding process for 10 x renderings in 10 days of a tower block. I came in ~70% below the winning bid (I was $10k, they were $30k). I was so pissed I asked my friend to get me the Revit model and went ahead and rendered the job anyway, just one image as a sample. I sent it to the firm. The 3d company who were retained for the job made a mess of it and they preferred my work...so I was hired on the next project, which was huge.

I did not finish my diploma yet. my teacher referred me to a job that was easy to work on. my teacher also told me that if you lose the job you wont get another job with the skill what you have now. After nine month of my first employment I have lost the job because the company collapsed for monitory reason. we 100 employee have lost the job at the same time.

I was so upset that I dropped my CV to many companies. But now I cant stop laughing when I remember that day. lol. I knew almost nothing compared to what I know now. anyway My skill was growing very fast. and according to my teacher I am the one who developed his skill faster than any of his students. I did not lose hope. So I was spending what I have amalgamated in nine months. after three months of my unemployment I was in an interview with a studio. they offered me a tiny salary that i could not imagine. I left that studio and decided not work within that salary.

I have decided to bid on freelance market places. And I got the first job I bid on. And that was the beginning of my freelance professional career.

I have never went for a job anymore. no matter what I get paid. the matter is I have freedom.

making a tour with my wife for seven days is more than $$$. ;)

While at architecture college, I got interested in webdesign and did some on my own, then I saw an ad on the wall for start-up website help, and ended up getting this freelance gig, I spent more time on getting the website working than my architectural studies, I was really excited about this freelance opportunity. That was before I was introduced to 3D field, then I was hooked on 3D and saw this as my career rather then webdesigner or architect.
