Jason Matthews
Hey all, I am pre-calculating my LC for an animation of about 2000 frames to be used with a pre-calculated IR Map. I setup the LC to render in fly-through mode and do all the normal settings such as "do not render final". The odd thing is that it renders the LC for the first frame and then it goes through the 2000 frames and does a rendering prepass. Why is that? Shouldn't it be running the LC for each frame instead? I guess I really never paid attention before. Is this normal?
waikitgarychin
It is normal, but LC calculate is not working for animated object
Jason Matthews
Thanks. I did find that on one material I checked interpolate which killed my LC calc time for some reason.
cg_Butler
It's not normal.......the other chap is wrong. I read your first post, was going to reply straight away with that answer that you have Interpolation on a material! So well done for finding it yourself. With this on, it will do a prepass for that reflection /refraction of any material it is on. It can improve the quality of glossy materials, at the expense of longer rendering times due to the extra calculation. Jason Matthews
That's exactly where I read it. I put a vray material in my scene from a vray materials website and forgot to uncheck the box. Thanks for the reply. Jason Matthews
