Getting back into the Industry - UK

Hi there,

Long time no post but hopefully that will all change soon enough.

A few years back I was employed as a full-time Architectural 3D Visualiser and I absolutely loved it. Unfortunately the recession came along and I found myself without a job any longer.

I searched for a new job for a long time but eventually had to take an entirely unrelated line of work to pay the bills and have been doing that ever since.

A few friends of mine I had been working with have recently got jobs in 3D again and things seem to be picking up a little so I find myself wondering if I could get back into 3d visualisation.

Iv'e done a few personal projects here and there but I'm sure I would need to some new portfolio work and brush up on a few things before job hunting again.

I'm hoping some of you may live on the south coast and will be able to offer me some insight into how the job market is. I could work in Southampton, Portsmouth, parts of Surrey and a few other locations.

Most jobs I see advertised are London based which isn't my first choice although I would consider it if it came to that.

Basically I don't want to put all my spare time into portfolio work if there still aren't any jobs.

I hope someone can help?

Thanks
