Jonathan Fantucchio
My Job wants me to use VRAY for this project and I am having trouble with the glass partitions being transparent. My reflect color is black and refract is white. Due to the strong primary lights the glass still reflects. Whats the best way to do glass partitions in VRAY. The glass seems to be modeled as a solid. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Krisztian Gulyas
I tried the same thing and no reflections. Maybe there's something else causing the problem. Can you send us a screenshot?

luthias42
try placing a vraycolor into the opacity slot or set the IOR of the refraction to 1.01 this controls the amount that the material bends the light. If your material's reflection is set completely to black and it is still has reflections on it, then you might need to remake your material. At 100% black you shouldn't get any reflection no mater what the scene is doing.
Chris MacDonald
If your reflection slot is pure black, it's not a reflection that you're seeing. I can't see what it is you're talking about, the image is so small.
Corey Beaulieu
post your glass material settings if you can... It's either a material thing or a geometry. Rebuild the geometry really quick with a line> extrude> shell and see if that fixes it. If not, it has to be a material thing. General glass setting should be Black diffuse, White reflection, White refraction, fresnel on 1.6 in both reflection and refraction, and tick affect shadows with the drop-down menu set to all channels. Chris MacDonald
^ Agreed with that. That is about as basic, but also accurate as you can get when starting out with glass in VRay.
