Ghost in Max file?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

My Max file suddenly jumped from about 30mb to over 700mb! It takes up 32G RAM! Even if I delete everything it is over 500mb. If I merge and geometry or shapes the 'ghost' comes with it. Basically everything to do with that file has this half a gig attached to it.

There was some components from sketch up in the scene and this may have happened after I booleaned it. But even if I remove all traces of it the 'ghost' remains.

Does anyone have any ideas? Has anyone experienced this before?

Any help much appreciated. This has wasted a couple of hours so far, including my lunch!

Thanks guys

P

You should probably ask Max questions in the Max forum, not the one for hardware. You might just get faster responses.

More than likely you have track view nodes in your scene. You probably have a prop or something that you imported that have them in your scene. Once they come in, they stick around. THe good news, it's an easy fix. But you really should look at all of your files to make sure that all of them get cleaned.
