Tim Nelson
Dude, that is beautiful. The only thing that I would try to improve is the stone walls. Are you adding more to it?

Juan Altieri
yes, i like the second image too, but i think that looks a little hard too, i try to put some more natural elements or some furniture to make looks more useful...
Richard McCarthy
G'day jacaro, Some how I like the first one better. The image seems to have more depth, and not as CG-ish as the 2nd one.....Perhaps a little less grain on the 1st one would be good too...
voltaire_ira
hey jc i rendered the revised scene but it has too much of color bleeding from the grass and most are washed out.i just lowered the multiplier and the gi of the grass.here's what happened.... http://md8solutions.com/voltaire/sunny1.jpg
voltaire_ira
Here's an update, took 12 minutes to render, chenged the glass settings and the ir map settings and the image sampling.

Da_RoCk
Hey fellas... Volt, guess your image is too saturated. i wonder if the grass bleeds upto the soffit. the rocks look akward.
IC
Thats a bit sore on the eyes The grass in these renders looks like a miniature Scots Pine forest!!
STRAT
i think the very first image looks the best. in the last image the grass is too radio-active looking and the radiosity effect is way too massive under the soffits
voltaire_ira
here's a new update, this time i made use of mentalray.i guess using mr made me forget all about vray...but, yup, the last image was too radioactive.i'm relearning vray as of this moment!!! voltaire_ira
here's a new update the palms will be removed on the next update since i got the wrong specie.... i did put bump on the stonewallls but i think its a bit unnoticable.i'll increase it.thnks for all your comments. render time is approx. 1:45minutes including photon and fg computation. light set-up is basically a mrareaspot and skylight w/ a hdri map. render settings for g.i. is 1000 photons and 3000 samples 1000 fg samples global settings are default except energy set at 5,000,
voltaire_ira
and another update..... still using mentalray. the palms are bitmaps but im currently preparing a 3d version of it. there's something wrong with the palm shadows, as you can see they're rectangular, showing the shape of the planes.this happens when i turn on caustics in the indirect illumination panel.in this case, caustics were on since i was experimenting on putting caustics. but when i turn it off, the shadows turn out to be correct. i don't know why, maybe a bug.anyone with the same experience?
