Sketchrender
Sketchup file imported into Max (2012) and rendered with Vray. Some of the walls in the models are 200mm thick glass. If I put a vray glass material on it, it obviously will not render as a proper glass pane, as I normally make 20mm. So with out re doing every single wall and reducing the thickness, is there a material setting for such items ? Thank you phil
Jason Matthews
Two things; 1) Make sure the normals are correct in Sketchup using the backside view button, 2) Make sure your vray glass has the transparent shadows (i think) button checked. Francisco Penaloza
200 mm is OK now VRay may read it as 2 single panels of glass instead a thick glass, but as Jason mentioned check the shadows options and play with the Index of Refraction, IOR, I would recommend un-lock the reflections from the refraction so you can adjust both as need it, but that will do. IO refraction when close to 1 you get less distortion.
