ABK
I'm rendering an animated sequence in vray (3ds max) and want to save the standard rgb pass along with a zDepth pass. My zDepth looks fine in the frame buffer and can be saved out fine for individual frames. However, I'm having trouble saving my zDepth pass for the whole sequence. Does anyone have any tips? Cheers, Antony
andstef
I renderd with zdepth for an animation and i had no trouble with saving. I renderd the rgb to exr,and the zdepth to tga, and composite them in aftereffects. I hope this helps!
ABK
cool. thanks for getting back to me. I'm still having trouble with this method :-/ I have found a way of working by saving the sequence as a .rpf file and selecting 'zDepth' in the settings. You can then choose your clipping planes in after effects giving you more flexibility using '3D channel extract'. NOTE: you need to use 'Camera Lens Blur' in after effects, set your zdepth sequence as your blur map and MAKE SURE 'Use Linear working space is unticked'
