spunk91
I need to make 5 pictures with a lot of triangles that follow a curvy path. But placing them all manual would be a lot of work, and i dont know if path constraint is able to do this. The triangles should follow the path in a random order, and not directly ON the path, but with a little spread. Is there a fancy way to do this with 3ds max, or am i going to have to do this manually? Thanks in advance //Niklas
Dave Buckley
Pretty sure you can do it with the Object Paint tools in the Graphite Modelling set. Youtube it, there are loads of tutorials
edgemaster
http://images.autodesk.com/adsk/files/3dsmax_2010_special_effects.pdf Page 21 on should be an example of setting up arrows along a path using particle flow
Francisco Penaloza
What about particle Flow? select your spline, then assign the triangles as particle objects, and voila, you can controls random size, rotation, density, everything. oops the PDF mentioned above is talking about particle system yep that's the way to do it. spunk91
Great thanks! I'll have a look at particle flow. //Niklas
ludnid
Better still just head over to scriptspot.com. Download Advanced painter. and install into your max interface. Advanced painter's free and makes the process a lot easier.
spunk91
I ended up with using multiscatter, it did the job, but im sure i could achieve the same results with the other methods Thanks once again
Scott Schroeder
Better still just head over to scriptspot.com. Download Advanced painter. and install into your max interface. Advanced painter's free and makes the process a lot easier. Advanced painter has been included in Max as part of the graphite tools for the last few releases, I think from 2010 or 11 on up.
