ronhermi
Hi, I have a scene with moving camera and moving objects. That's why I decided to use the irradiance prepass method. So I rendered the prepass and used the vrmaps in animation mode. Everything worked fine. Now I want to render the exact same scene again using again the vrmaps from the first prepass but now the gi is rendered incorrect. there are only very little GI information, most parts don't have any GI on it. But I'm using the same prepass maps as before....does anybody know why this happens? thank you
Corey Beaulieu
Sounds like it just failed you. You should be able to re-use the precalculated Irr anytime you want as long as you haven't changed the scene. For both moving object and camera, though, I would use Brute Force and Light Cache. I know the prepass method works, but I find that you still get subtle flickering and light swells even when you are interpolating across many frames and Brute Force isn't that noisy for most scenes. Just untick Time Independent in the DMC Sampler and keep you Subdiv a bit lower.
