Noise
When I am in a viewport set to camera then hide some geometry it changes to Perspective, just wondering if anyone has experienced this and has been able to prevent it from happening ? Thanks N
salvador
Same here too. Although not all of the time, but it has happened. The view angle doesn't change but then I'm not in Camera view anymore.
Noise
It wastes time when I send a render and it is washed out because it has switched to Perspective. When we are under a deadline and the scene is big it's hassle I don't need.
Sketchrender
Can I ask if you are using vray, and you have set up a vray camera, and linked it back in the environmental setting, as a chosen camera, ie set to be a template camera so you can render a standard or perspective view and it uses the vray settings. salvador
Not here. But it's still a situation where you have to stay close to check if you render is coming out ok or not, or make a new rule of checking your viewport before hitting the render button every time and this behavior didn't happen in the past. As mentioned above, not a big deal but quite annoying.
Scott Schroeder
Are you hiding or isolating? Isolating and coming back from that in a camera view will kick you to perspective in Max 2013. We had a nice rant session about it here: http://forums.cgarchitect.com/72833-fixes-scripts-object-isolation-mess-2013-a.html
Noise
Hi Scott I did a search for similar threads but didn't find anything so, its interesting to see others having the same problem. It shouldn't matter if its hide or isolate, it blatantly shouldn't happen. Philip, I will give your suggestion a go and report back.
Scott Schroeder
What breaks it is the fact how Max's new code deals with the zoom extents on the viewport, at least in the case of isolating objects. Normally you can't zoom extents when in a camera view, but for some strange reason it appears that Max is actually forcing an override of the own ability to stop zoom extents from a camera view. I've never had it happen when hiding objects and I've only heard of it happening with others are using isolate, which is why I was intrigued by you getting it with hiding objects. Either way, it's hard to remember that you really can't do much of anything these days from your camera view. Thanks Autodesk!
