farzad_moshiri
Hello and good day everyone Among furniture models, I consider many, which are hardly believable as purely modeled by "Edit Poly" modifier. (One sample is attached to the post, modeled by Grimaldi Glauco) Would you please let me know if there's any software/plugin/command used to model this sort of furniture? Thanks in advance

Thanks in advance Yeah, there is a plug-in. It's called hard work and having an expert knowledge of the software and edge loop flow. More than likely the person created a base mesh and did the finer details in a sculpting program like Mudbox or ZBrush.
farzad_moshiri
Nice advice My workflow is the regular poly-modeling plus turbosmooth; but I had no idea about the usage of the sculpting programs you mentioned, in furniture modeling. Lately I had an experience with the "Marvelous Designer" software, but didn't find it appropriate for such modeling situations... So, I suppose it's time to have a tour with these sculpting softwares. Thanks so much for your valuable response Scott
chrislittle
The above shown model, that was also in a recent inspiration series was actually modeled by designconnected.com. They have a lot of great furniture that is modeled really well. We have been trying to figure out a workflow to achieve similar results with our own custom furniture. It really drives me crazy when people purchase models and then do a close up render and claim credit for something that they did not create. mattlewis
I'm not sure about 3ds Max, but in C4d I'd use some sort of soft body/cloth dynamics, not sure if what you use has that but that's the first thing that comes to mind.
notamondayfan
Check out viscorbel's furniture modelling tutorials. I consider myself quite a competant modeller, and I found his tutorials well worth the money, just for the little tips and tricks that I might have missed.
