carlangas
Hi all, Im using light tracer for this lil ugly cabin and are having problems. It was modeled in acad and its perfect, meaning there are no overlaping faces or gaps. when I imported the model to 3ds 6 I cheked all the boxes in the import dia box. 1. light is leaking through the roof. 2. for some reason these faces appear darker, they're all on the same plane. 3. how do I get rid of the white lines that outline the alpha channel? thank you all for your input
MegaPixel
Carlos, If you are using Photoshop, I'd suggest using the "Defringe" tool to remove the white edges (Layer/Matting/Defringe - by 1 pixel). The weird shadowing on your front porch might be caused by an oddball smoothing group and perhaps an isolated flat face like that should not have any at all. If your whole scene was behaving this way, I'd say increase your Filtering size a tad but that doesnt seem to be the case. I know the Radiosity renderer will cause "light leaks" if the geometry is one sided and not boxed in or unwelded but I'm not sure how the Light Tracer reacts to this. I might have a quick fix for you which would make your model look a "tad" more detailed. Model up a "Soldier Coarse" of bricks to cover up the light leak where the Soffit meets the wall or some kind of trim board. The scene doesn't look too bad otherwise. You may need to keep tweaking your Light Trace settings and your light source though. Hope I could help you somewhat - MegaPixel
